OVERVIEW

The project partnered with HENI, an international art services company, to design HENI News, a digital platform delivering daily art news, market insights, and data-driven analysis. The platform brings together stories from the global art world with in-depth auction reports, market trends, and insights into emerging and established artists. Through a clear, engaging digital experience, HENI News makes complex art market data more accessible, helping collectors, professionals, and enthusiasts stay informed and better understand the evolving global art market.

PROBLEM

The global art market generates a vast amount of news, auction data, and market insight

The global art market generates vast amounts of news, auction data, and market insight, but this information is often fragmented and difficult to navigate. HENI needed a digital platform that could bring these insights together while making complex data accessible to a wider audience. The challenge was to balance rich, data-driven content with an engaging and intuitive experience, helping users discover stories, understand trends, and explore artists shaping the global art market.

SOLUTION

A content-led that brings HENI’s art news, market data, and insights together in one accessible platform

We created a clear, content-led digital experience that brings HENI’s art news, market data, and insights together in one accessible platform. A structured information architecture makes it easy to browse stories, explore auction reports, and discover trending artists. We introduced intuitive navigation, data-rich visualisations, and editorial layouts that balance depth with readability, creating an engaging experience for collectors, professionals, and anyone interested in the global art market.

SCOPE OF WORK

End-to-end design of the HENI News digital platform, from UX research and creating a design system

Our scope covered the end-to-end design of the HENI News digital platform, from UX research, information architecture, and wireframing through to visual design and prototyping. We worked closely with HENI stakeholders to align business, editorial, and user needs throughout the process. The work also included responsive design, data visualisation, and the creation of a scalable design system, establishing consistent components, patterns, and guidelines across the platform and supporting future development.

Strategy & Research

We explored user needs, business goals, content requirements, and competitor experiences to shape the product strategy, define key journeys, prioritise features, and create a focused foundation for design.

UX UI Design

We developed the UX/UI through user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and visual design, creating intuitive navigation and clear content structures that make complex art market information engaging and easy to explore.

Design System

We created a scalable design system for HENI News, defining reusable components, typography, colour, spacing, and interaction patterns to ensure consistency and support efficient future development.

Accessiblity

HENI News was designed with accessibility in mind, followding WCAG accessibility guidelines focusing on clear hierarchy, readable typography, sufficient colour contrast, and layouts to create an inclusive experience.

RESULTS & IMPACT

Creating a more accessible and engaging way to explore art market news, data, and insights.

The new HENI News platform and mobile app created a more accessible and engaging way to explore art market news, data, and insights. Clearer content structures and intuitive navigation helped users discover relevant stories and understand complex market information more easily. The design system established a consistent visual language across both digital experiences, improving scalability and efficiency for future development. Together, the products strengthened HENI’s digital presence within the global art market.
