OVERVIEW

A UX/UI design and Webflow development project for Prudence Cuming Associates, a fine art photography studio established in 1967. The UX focused on restructuring information architecture, simplifying navigation, and creating clear user journeys across the studio’s specialist services. The UI translated this into a refined, editorial visual system that reflects the company’s expertise and heritage. The responsive website was then developed in Webflow as a polished digital experience.

PROBLEM

Existing website did not fully reflect the quality, expertise, and breadth of Prudence Cuming Associates’ services.

The existing website did not fully reflect the quality, expertise, and breadth of Prudence Cuming Associates’ services. Information was difficult to navigate, with limited hierarchy and unclear pathways for prospective clients to understand the studio’s capabilities. The challenge was to create a more intuitive and engaging digital experience that could communicate its specialist services, extensive portfolio, and professional credibility while balancing a refined visual identity with practical usability across devices.

SOLUTION

User-focused information architecture that made the studio’s services and capabilities easier to explore.

The solution focused on creating a clearer, more intuitive way to navigate Prudence Cuming Associates’ extensive range of services. Photography was organised around key disciplines and applications, making it easier for museums, galleries, collectors, artists, and commercial clients to identify relevant capabilities. A refined editorial UI paired strong imagery with clear hierarchy and calls to action, while responsive Webflow development ensured a consistent experience across devices.

SCOPE OF WORK

Structuring content, journeys, and navigation to create a clear, intuitive experience for diverse audiences.

The UX scope focused on understanding the studio’s services and audiences, restructuring its information architecture, defining intuitive navigation, and mapping clear user journeys across the website. This included organising complex service information, establishing content hierarchies, and determining how users could discover relevant services and move towards enquiries. The UX foundation informed the subsequent UI design and Webflow development, creating a cohesive, responsive experience tailored to the studio’s diverse client base.

Strategy & Research

The strategy and research phase focused on understanding the studio’s services, audiences, and business goals. Existing content and user needs were analysed to identify opportunities for clearer navigation, stronger content hierarchy, and more effective service discovery.

UX UI Design

The UX/UI process translated research insights into intuitive user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, and responsive interfaces. Service content was structured to help diverse clients quickly understand capabilities, explore relevant work, and take meaningful next steps.

Design System

A cohesive design system was developed to create consistency across the website. Typography, spacing, grids, components, imagery, and interaction patterns established a refined visual language while providing a scalable foundation for responsive Webflow development.

Accessiblity

Accessibility was considered throughout the design and development process, with attention to clear hierarchy, readable typography, sufficient contrast, intuitive navigation, responsive layouts, and accessible interaction patterns to support a wider range of users.
